Art Dolls with Living Doll clay

I have been exploring using the Sculpy Living Doll clay. I love it! It stays firm while you work with it, and it's not as easy to change the shape. I love the way it bakes, and the fact you can super cure it which makes it even stronger. It is so forgiving and easy to do fine details.
If your sculpting in Super Sculpy please consider trying Living Doll. Also check out Mark Dennis' blog. Madsculptor! He is a wealth of knowledge!! I read every post he made last year and so far this year as well. I will be checking every day for new words of wisdom!

I hope you enjoy my new pieces please leave a comment if you have a look! thanks for viewing!
Watch out for a new page on the Time Explorer, this is a mixed media paper mache piece I am working on. Picture soon to come!

Below are a couple dates we won't be there but somewhere else. We won't be there if it is raining!!! But we hope you all will have time to stop in and see our wares. Lots of new things in the stall for embellishing your dolls or quilts!! Plus lots of new things that Jane and I have made for gifts. Vintage Christmas cards and great little handmade dolls and Santa's. Our stall is now along the entrance road of the market. We have an outdoor canopy now. If you are familar with the markets we took over the pizza man's space. It is a great location. Hope to see you all out supporting our local artists and farmers!

New Creations

Well where does the time go! I have been very busy in the studio producing for our Christmas fairs, plus just out there doing the fairs. But thought I would share with you all some of my newest creations. These dolls are polymer clay attached to wire armature. I created the accessories/embellishments, all except the butter fly on Mr. Sleepy. I hope you enjoy. None of these dolls is over 9 inches in height. The birdcage is about 20 inches tall. I made the cage by wrapping wire with copper tape. Effective but I will have many scars on my fingers from cuts of the tape. Next time I will wear gloves!! Check out the additional page on Hey Birdie Birdie below in the blog on the right handside.

Dolls have found new homes and families

A couple of weeks ago Jane and I were at the Farmers Market and we had our stall up selling our wares. Pictures of that stall set up are the most recent ones here on the blog in earlier posts. We have sold 3 dolls at the market recently, Orange Pudding, Purple Haze, and Blue Socks all picked new families to go to. They will be very missed in our family! But we are very happy they have new homes where they are loved! (:))
We are thrilled and inspired to keep producing by selling our dolls. These are all original dolls from my own pattern called Poppy and Penny! Christmas Craft Stall

Finally our ISP has allowed us to load pictures. One of the prices we pay for living in Paradise is a slow connection! I have attached a bunch of pictures here of our most recent stall at the Fine Food and Craft Market held in Newcastle. We will be back at the show every Sunday in December. Next Friday we are off to the USA for a visit to see friends and family. I can't wait! We will be in AZ with our friends Sharon and Val both are crafters in a big way! They are taking us to a huge craft show while we are there next Saturday. I am so excited. We will also spend some time in Lakeport, California my ole stomping ground visiting friends. We will fly then to Oklahoma to spend Thanksgiving with my family. I hope we are going to take a drive to the Ozarks to check out the crafts for a couple of days there. Anyway, hope you all enjoy the pictures of our stall. I sold 3 large dolls and 8 small ones in the recent market. It is all very modivating to keep working! See you all when we return. I will try to update along the way. We have a house sitter looking after our puppies! That is the hardest thing to leave behind.

The market is at the Entertainment Centre if you wonder where! We will be there on the 1st of Nov, 6th of Dec, then every Sunday after that til Christmas!! Wish us luck. Newcastle Charity Doll Show

Hi, well we have been very busy and slack at adding things to the blog. But this last weekend was exciting and worth a mention. We had a stall at the Newcastle Charity Doll and Bear Show. I also entered some dolls in the competition and won Best Original doll for "Blue Skies Forever 2". I was thrilled! We also had good sales in our stall. Wilma Simmons joined us for the day and brought bead work, dolls, vintage bits and pieces, felting and many other wonderful items to enhance our stall. We had a great day chatting up a storm about all the great projects and plans we have. Sharing ideas and working out problems together. I am going to try and load a slide show of our stall for you all to see. So have a look and let us know what you think!. Thanks Wilma for all your help on Friday setting up and all day Saturday!
