The Oracle WIP

Oracle and his follower, newest creation, all original except for the wheels!
I found the wheels online and ordered them to use. They are fantastic wood
wheels that come bare wood to paint or stain as you choose. There is lots
of wood, and copper soldering on this piece. Jane made the all the handmade books in the library behind him on the cart.

another view- showing the Follower that is pulling the cart.
He is free standing and has a combination of leather and fabric in his clothing.

Satin, leather, mohair all make up the Oracle's wardrobe

The library has lots of copper embellishments with soldered corners, a mica window is
framed in copper and soldered into the frame. Just have to finish his umbrella and a few other touch ups. He will be on display for the first Dreamers Markets in Parramatta 20th of July.

Taliesin the Wizard!

Taliesin WON Best Original Doll at the Northern District Doll and Bear Show in Sydney, Australia

19th of November 2011

I have just completed a new doll and wanted to share here. I haven't had time to post here for some time. But felt it was time to warm up the Blog again with current works. Taliesin is about 18-20 inches tall. I sculpt the head, hands and feet out of Living Doll polymer clay. He is completely wired so can be posed. Many elements embellish Taliesin, silk, rabbit fur, leather, metal and glass. Mohair for his hair and beard. I am very pleased with how he has come along. I am hoping to get into a few more dolls this size in the near future.

Art Dolls with Living Doll clay

I have been exploring using the Sculpy Living Doll clay. I love it! It stays firm while you work with it, and it's not as easy to change the shape. I love the way it bakes, and the fact you can super cure it which makes it even stronger. It is so forgiving and easy to do fine details.
If your sculpting in Super Sculpy please consider trying Living Doll. Also check out Mark Dennis' blog. Madsculptor! He is a wealth of knowledge!! I read every post he made last year and so far this year as well. I will be checking every day for new words of wisdom!

I hope you enjoy my new pieces please leave a comment if you have a look! thanks for viewing!
Watch out for a new page on the Time Explorer, this is a mixed media paper mache piece I am working on. Picture soon to come!

New Creations

Well where does the time go! I have been very busy in the studio producing for our Christmas fairs, plus just out there doing the fairs. But thought I would share with you all some of my newest creations. These dolls are polymer clay attached to wire armature. I created the accessories/embellishments, all except the butter fly on Mr. Sleepy. I hope you enjoy. None of these dolls is over 9 inches in height. The birdcage is about 20 inches tall. I made the cage by wrapping wire with copper tape. Effective but I will have many scars on my fingers from cuts of the tape. Next time I will wear gloves!! Check out the additional page on Hey Birdie Birdie below in the blog on the right handside.

Old Man Time

I have been busy again just finishing this little doll I call Old Man Time. He is 38cm tall and is fully wired. He can have his pose changed. He has semi-precious stones, leather, various fabrics, angelina fibers, metal embelishments, watch parts just to name a few things included in his costume. We hope you enjoy viewing Old Man Time. I sure enjoyed creating him. He will be exhibited in the Maitland Society of Artists Members Show 13th of August in Maitland and will be a part of my exhibit in the upcoming Liverpool Doll and Bear Show 24th & 25th of July. Please leave a comment if you have time. And if you have questions or are interested in purchasing Old Man Time, please contact us oliverlambert08@gmail.com Thanks for visiting our blog.
