Has been awhile!

Well a lot has happened since I have posted here on my blog! Facebook became my favourite but I do realise not everyone likes Facebook. We moved to the Central Coast sold our big house and bought a smaller one. Sea change and de-clutter! We are in the process of remodelling a few areas and adding a studio! But we have been busy in our studio as well! We have been very busy in the Hunter Artist Network and participating in all the Art Bazaars and active on the committee as well. Now that we are on the central coast we will be participating in the Handmade Markets out of Gosford, and Dreamers Markets at Parramatta.  You can still reach us at our regular email oliverlambert08@gmail.com.

Well she is finished, what fun she was to make.
Polymer clay sculpted head, hands and feet, fully wired body. Silks, velvets, cotton and felt make up her clothing and stand. Plus straight mohair for her hair makes up her outfit. All parts of the piece were created bar the wire ring and stand underneath all the fabrics.
The total piece stands 22 inches tall. The Witch is roughly 15 inches. I didn't measure her in too big of a hurry to finish.
She is for sale, if you are interested. But not for a few months as I would like to share her at the Doll and Bear Shows between now and Christmas. But if you would like to purchase her I will take a deposit and payments to reserve you being able to own her if you are willing for me to share her for awhile.
$350.00 plus shipping, or no shipping if you want to pick her up!

NEW Doll in the works!

Art Bazaar 9th September Hunter Valley Gardens

The painting above is acrylic, fabric, canvas sheet on canvas 8x8 inches

All of the pictures here are acrylic mixed media on either 5x7 or 8x8 inch canvas board. I love this size but am also working larger as well. I will put pictures of the larger work on soon! All of these and many more will be in our stall at the Art Bazaar being held at the Hunter Valley Gardens, wine country for the New South Wales region. The show will be on the grounds in the middle of all the nice gift shops at the entrance to the gardens. Have a look on line for a view of the gardens. Hope you all can attend and see all the beautiful work produced by the Hunter Artists Network.

Farmers Market at the Entrance

We will be at the Farmers Market tomorrow at the Entrance foreshore. We hope you can stop by our stall and see all our new wares! This is weather permitting! We are fair weather marketers.

Penrith Doll, Bear and Craft Show

What a great show we had! Fantastic venue, access, stall size was exceptional! Promoters were great! Parking for vendors and customers huge and accessible. Penrith is a must visit must must show! If you can, be sure you come next year! We will for sure be there. We had one of our best ever shows for sales. Thank you Penrith! The doll here to the right, sold on the first day! He won Best original doll at the Northern Districts Doll and Bear show last year. He will take up his new home in Bendigo, Victoria. A fantastic doll. We have enjoyed him and happy he has a new home. We sold other smaller dolls as well as many other of our creations over the 2 day show.

Next weekend we will be at the Wyong Doll and Bear Show. SO if you missed this one we can catch up next weekend with you!! Hope to see you there. I will write more tomorrow about where and times for the Wyong show. So stay tuned...Just can't seem to get out of my recliner at the moment to go get the paperwork...(:)) hope you enjoy the pictures of us and our stall this weekend.

Doll and Bear Show Penrith Panthers in Penrith

New for Art Bazaar 10th of June Maitland

All hand painted fabrics collaged together on felt and then quilted into a wall hanging. Tyvek, silk, a bit of metal wire and a few buttons, semi precious stones, beads and a whole lot of fun! Hope you enjoy. These will be for sale at Art Bazaar on 10th of June in Maitland at the Art Gallery.

More Pixie Nix dolls

These are 3 of my most recent dolls. I am very pleased with their outcome. Polymer clay, fully wired, fabric and other mixed media things added. The dolls if standing are 11.5 inches tall excluding their hats. All available for sale contact me for prices if you are interested. We can ship all over the world and accept Pay Pal. Hope you enjoy. These two are clowns of a sort, I hand painted this fabric. The base in this one is also hand painted fabric. So much fun. I plan to use lots more of the painted fabrics this way!

Sculpting class May 2012

Cam, Leanne and Doris all hard at work in the recent sculpture class. A fully packed day of learning how to create the armature and sculpt the polymer mixed media doll. Next class will be in July watch for the dates here soon!

Dobell Festival of Arts and Crafts

Hi everyone, I have been busy over this holiday weekend of Easter playing in the studio.
I found this great pattern for childrens shoes in Cloth Paper Scissors and decided to give it a try! They are such fun. It is a bit of paper mache, glue and embellishments. All are about 4 inches long. The pink/purple ones are actually painted/stamped paper that I made. I didn't have any pink coloured paper I liked so decided to make my own! I am going to see about offering them as a class at Scrap Needs. So if your interested check at http://www.scrapneeds.com.au for classes in the future. Enjoy!! lots of fun to make.

Come and discuss problems, work on projects, get help from Bobbi with design and
sculpting techniques. Bobbi will work with you individually each month to solve
problems you might be encountering with your sculpture and techniques.
Also just come to be inspired by others projects, and get ideas.
Show and tell, bring and share with the group what your doing.
This is not a class but a sharing information club. Prior experience or

workshop with Bobbi recommended prior to club attendance.

We will discuss anatomy, design of wired clay/fabric dolls, clay firing
techniques, and much more. Bobbi’s library of ART books, supplies for purchase,

Beginning Cloth Doll Class

April 15th and April 22nd
9am-4pm 14 hrs of instruction
2 Sundays at
Lambo Art Studio

Maximum 8 students
Minimum of 4 students
It is time to reserve your seat

Meeting days are 2 -Sundays in a row so work can be done at home in between the instruction days.
The fabrics will be different than what is pictured, but evevery bit as nice as what you see!
Things you need to bring -
sewing machine, (You need to know how to
thread and operate your sewing machine)
basic sewing tools needles, good quality scissors, straight pins, a variety of cotton colours (thread)
one spool of heavy duty thread soft flesh colour, pink or cream.
small paint brushes 2-3 sizes for eyes small points (good quality)
I will supply some tools and have some for purchase.
Pen and paper
for notes, and your lunch

This class is to learn the basics of doll construction, cutting out, sewing, turning, arms, legs, fingers, stuffing, and putting it all together, sculpting the cloth doll head and drawing/painting the face. We will explore choosing fabrics for dolls, combining
colours and textures for effect and creating expression on your doll’s faces.

Kit includes,
pattern, fabrics, inner facing, hair, stuffing, use of tools, paints, glues and much more.
Coffee and tea provided all day. Microwave and fridge are in the studio.

Polymer Clay Sculpted Doll Class

I will be teaching a new Living Doll polymer clay sculpting class on Saturday, 31sth of March at our studio in Thornton. If your interested please contact me at oliverlambert08@gmail.com to receive a flyer with all the information. Seats are limited and there is only a couple left so contact me quickly to book in.
We will work all day and complete 1 doll. You will learn the basics of sculpting a face hands and shoes in clay put it all together on a wire armature and cloth the doll with very little sewing. It is a fully packed day with lots of great ideas and skills to learn. I hope to hear from you soon. If you don't get into this class I will start a list to schedule another one soon!!
